The Role of Augmented Reality (AR) in Enhancing Tourist Experiences

Augmented Reality (AR) is transforming the tourism sector by providing interactive and immersive experiences for tourists. This paper explores the various applications of AR in enhancing visitor engagement in museums, historical sites, and city tours, as well as its role in enriching the educational value of travel experiences. Additionally, this study analyzes the challenges of AR adoption in tourism businesses, including technical, financial, and cultural obstacles. The findings suggest that while AR offers great potential for enhancing tourist experiences, it also requires careful implementation and strategic investment to overcome adoption barriers.
